Hello, is anyone home ?
It would be the story of an old Dario Argento horror movie, or rather an attempt at a remake. It would take place in the mountains of Appenzell, under the spring sun or on a thick blanket of snow, depending on the version. It would be the story of a young woman who misses the bus and seeks refuge in an isolated chalet. It would be the story of a sense of deja-vu, of a superimposed effect. It would be the story of an investigation that ends with a twist. It would be the story of three friends walking in the snow in the footsteps of the old film. It would be the story of a shaky camera that seems to be looking for something to hold on to in the snowy landscape. It would be the story of a mysterious and haunting soundtrack composed by Claudio Simonetti, overlaid with the sound of the wind, remnants of dialogues and a panting breath. It would be the story of a snowstorm. It would be the story of a reality that is caught up in fiction. It would be the story of a missed act. It would be the story of a friend who runs in vain after the bus she just missed, like in the movie. It would be the story of black fir trees and steep peaks that are less and less visible in the blizzard. It would be the story of a hotel with closed blinds. It would be the story of a bench on which we wait. It would be the story of a refuge that we never really find.
